Position Overview

This highly entrepreneurial role involves generating sales into corporate accounts, delivering Institute services to a regionally focused community of clients, and maintaining relationships with service providers and the academic community. It is an ideal role for someone who is passionate about leader and executive development, enjoys maintaining relationships with many local professionals in the field and serving as the region’s leader. Additionally, the Regional Directors participate in strategic planning and new product development for The Institute.


Responsibilities

  • Generate new sales into existing client organizations using a consultative selling approach.
  • Identify new clients for The Institute. Develop long term relationships, capture the business needs and identify sales prospects to establish a sales pipeline.
  • Expand own expertise in leader and executive development practices and trends. Maintain expertise through conferences, networking, and research.
  • Maintain intimate familiarity with everything related to leader and executive development in the region, the companies and their practices, the service providers and business schools and their specific offerings, and all events and conferences on the subject.
  • Design and produce local networking and knowledge sharing events for Institute clients.
  • Participate in strategic business and product planning for The Institute.

Requirements

  • Domain expertise in the leader and executive development industry, including practices, industry trends, and suppliers. Deep understanding of the management development process, either having served as a practitioner or service provider.
  • Strong customer service orientation. Enjoys providing world class service to clients, excellent listener with impeccable follow-up work habits. High quality standards.
  • Successful sales experience with firms serving the human resources and leadership development function. Experience selling into Global 2000 corporations and securing sales in the $10,000 to $150,000 range utilizing consultative selling skills. Expertise selling technology-enabled solutions a plus.
  • Existing relationships with Senior HR, Learning and Development executives in corporations. Ability to locate and dialogue with additional decision makers.
  • Entrepreneurial mind set and work history. Demonstrated flexibility, drive, and resourcefulness. Organized, self motivated, proven ability to be highly productive while working out of a home or satellite office. Excellent time management skills.
  • High degree of professionalism in written and oral communications and strong presentation skills.
  • College degree and track record of accomplishment and follow through.
  • Ability to build effective business team relationships with other colleagues.

Compensation

Compensation is heavily performance based and is comprised of a base salary plus commission structure with an unlimited upside.
